Public-private partnership, smart management of mobility and stepping up governance
AEMES Smart (formerly Smart Space), AMB, and IESE publish reports of the main conclusions of the Strategic Cycle of the Macaya Palace "Publicoprivate Collaboration in an efficient and sustainable metropolitan environment".
The reports address two challenges of metropolises, such as good governance and sustainable mobility, and they set out the conclusions and proposals for improvements of recognised international experts, in a context marked by the health, social and economic crisis caused by covid-19.
The 3 conferences and 2 seminars that were held throughout this cycle – action-oriented and not just informative – provided a meeting point for recognised national and international experts who brought their knowledge, experience and proposals to respond to the major challenges of mobility, management and governance of the Metropolis.
The 40 pages of the final conclusions contain various proposals, such as the need for real metropolitan policies, with public and private actors to push the 2030 agenda; the management of mobility in the metropolitan area, in a coordinated and efficient manner, with public leadership, but with the help of the private sector and through more effective and transparent public-private partnership formulas, or the key role of technology to work on platforms that allow us to manage mobility efficiently, coordinated and sustainablely.
In short, the final documents contain three main ideas: new municipal governance requires a metropolitan dimension, to solve major metropolitan problems, the cooperation of all public and private actors is necessary, and, finally, the two previous axes are essential to achieving efficient and sustainable mobility in the metropolis.
